"What people don't realize is how much religion costs. They think faith is a big electric blanket, when of course it is the cross.  It is much harder to believe than not to believe.  If you feel you can't believe, you must at least do this: keep an open mind.  Keep it open toward faith, keep wanting it, keep asking for it, and leave the rest to God."

Victory!
Eric is vibrant and exuberant. His witty and interactive sermons are what brought me back to the church after so many years of being away, and his ability to connect on a personal level with people of all ages is what made me want to continue to strengthen my relationship with God and my family week after week.

[When I was] appointed Director of Christian Education, Eric was so wonderful to work with. He was very approachable when I had questions and very encouraging when I had new ideas. He even participated in an Ice Bucket Challenge to encourage attendance! There are not enough words to describe the spark Eric has within him.

Eric is the best of the best.  Eric is the best Minister of Congregational Life ever.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
my favorite Bible verse,
from Paul's letter to the church in Rome,
pointing us to the hope and power of our faith in the midst of anything that life throws at us
